David Banks edited the Daily Mirror for two years and the Daily Telegraph, Sydney, for four years.

He has been consultant editor of the Sunday Mirror, deputy editor of The Australian, managing editor of both the New York Post and the New York Daily News and assistant editor of The Sun.

He was also at different times editorial director and director of corporate communications at Mirror Group.

In radio, David spent three years hosting London’s LBC Breakfast Show and then national Talk Radio’s Breakfast Show.

He now writes columns for Press Gazette (monthly) and The Journal, Newcastle upon Tyne (weekly) and broadcasts regularly on BBC Radio Five, Radio Four and World Service and on LBC.

Married for 36 years, David and his wife Gemma live in Northumberland and have two grown-up children.
